So then yes I WOULD need to have a low impedence mod so that the only frequencies sent to the amp for the subwoofer through the RCA are lower frequencies. Correct?

Doesn't your amp have a crossover? Thant's all you need to filter the highs from the subs.

i connected the wires to the blue/pink purple/teal set... and hooked everything up as normal, and im getting a lot of voice and distortion through the sub...should i have hooked the amp to the Rear Deck Right + Blue/Red
Rear Deck Right - Blue/White Rear Deck Left + Blue/Yellow Rear Deck Left - White/Green
from the white (or blue?) harness instead?? could a not good ground cause that too? i need to fix my ground as well im thinking.

Your amp has a crossover.

Built in continuously variable low pass crossover (24 dB per octave)
Use a test light to make sure you have the correct turn on wire. A bad ground can cause distortion. You should be using at least 4 gauge power and ground wires.

Eveything comes on and plays fine, it just seems like theres a lot of static and distortion still. I changed the ground spot to a better ground and the distortion went away a little bit, Im think maybe I should solder the rca cables to the harness instead of using connectors and tape...good idea? Also none of this explains why there might be voice frequencies and higher pitches coming out of the sub still... i really feel like this right now seeing as I go to school for electronic/computer engineering

Did you adjust the crossover to around 60 - 70 HZ?

Solder the connections, or at least use crimp connectors.

Yeah, I can attest to that. Sean helped me big time by answering all of my questions during my audio install. Thanks Sean!

Hey, I have an I35, im looking to do pretty much the same thing, except from the wires before the BOSE amp being spliced and running to the sub amp they are spliced and i want to run it to an equalizer to add bass back into the signal (just adding one more component into the mix) this should work right? To me it seems it would, but i like to get other's opinions before i begin the work. The equalizer i want to use is MTX Re-q http://www.crutchfield.com/App/Produ...236REQ&tp=6870

Thanks for the help!
