^ That basic wiring description should work for you too. You may need to look at the service manual to find the wire colors you need.

What?!

both my fronts left and right are red silver/green silver. I assumed the red silver was positve. Did i just hook up the kappas in reverse polarity? Why the hell would they make red negative? Crap.

I just ordered kappa 2 way 6x9's for the rear deck. Are you saying the bose amp only outputs lows to the rears. That wouldn't work out too well with a 2 way.

Dude you're freakin me out.

Those wire colors are at the Bose amp and not necessarily at the speaker. The way I checked polarity at the speaker, regardless of wire color, is to ude a AA battery to attach to the short but of wire still attached to the OEM speaker clip to determine which way makes the speaker move out. When the speaker moves out, the wire connected to the + battery terminal is the + wire.

Yes, the Bose 6 x 9's are supposed to be the subwoofers of the system, so a 2 way won't work the way you expect. The rear side speakers are for treble. There are a lot of posts about this. Sorry.

so I found a wiring diagram and i did wire them in reverse. Green is positive and red is negative. Would it be too much to ask for speaker wires to be red positive and black negative? If that is too much to ask, how about not making red wires negative? Jeez.

I'm still going to go with the 6x9 kappa 2 ways for the deck, especially since i already bought them on ebay. I'm going to assume the tweets have some kind of bass blocker on them so if the frequencies aren't there only the woofers will get signal. Still gotta be better than stock.

How do I get at them to replace? I hear the rear sides are a PIA and you have to gut the rear interior but what about just the rear decks?

I think its the same exact process. You still have to remove the rear sides to get to the back deck. Not sure tho. Im getting mine done by a pro I did my system in my two previous cars and its just to much of a head ache getting wires right and car back together.

The factiry engineers design the wire harnesses for their needs. Most people won't change the speakers like we do. I have found the battery trick to be the most surefire and easiest method.

To remove the rear deck speakers, you have to remove the side panels and other parts to remove the rear deck.

Hey guys...so here we go im a newbie to the G world I just got a 05 G Coupe, with the Bose System... heres what I wana do please give me directions as to how I can go about doing it!

in my last car all i did was install my amp to my rear 6x9s and ran the ground, radio, and power wire like normal

now with the G35 is it possible to install my amp the same way i did in my last car and still keep the bose amp to the speakers.

so what I wana do is leave everything how it is now but install the amp using the 6 x 9 and a hi low adapter now with that said how would i connect the radio wire and should that setup be ok ??

You can do it the way you propose, but you'll get better results connecting your amp to the Bose signal before it goes into the Bose amp.

See the sticky at the top of the AV section about adding a sub to your Bose system. It will show you exactly what to do.

Hey g35redline: Can you explain your procedure more in detail? I want to do the same to my non bose.
