XM antenna compatibility

My sedan is prewired for XM and I wnat to add the sysytem. If I buy the $300 setup from grubbs, what is the smallest antenna I can hook to that system. Can I use the micro antenna by delphi with that system. The terk is too big. The delphi micro is tiny! What are your feelings on separate head unit for XM. It is much cheaper.

Re: XM antenna compatibility

Check my profile to see the Blitzsafe micro antenna mounted on my dash, it's smaller than the Delphi. But Terk is releasing their new micro next month which is smaller than the Blitzsafe one...but not by much. BTW...I replied to your PM.

Re: XM antenna compatibility

Thanks-appreciate it. I think I am going to get the oem kit from grubbs and then blitzsafe micro with adapter kit and go from there. Tough decision as the xm commander system is only $140. $220 cheaper than the oem.

Re: XM antenna compatibility

Why not make-do with the OEM antenna until the Terk nano-antenna comes out next month. It will be worth the wait!!

Re: XM antenna compatibility

Will it be a two wire or single wire antenna?

Re: XM antenna compatibility

The only way you can hook up the Commander is FM mod...OEM direct tuner sounds 10x better. Plus you'd have to mount the Commander's controller somewhere, but it's display & features put the factory headunit to shame.

The Terk Micro is a single wire just like the Blitzsafe.
