Is this true?

I have an 03 coupe with bose system, nav, every option available. I have the SAT button and will be installing a sub this week, so ill have the head unit apart. I wanted to add XM to the car, and was told by the dealer that it would cost $447.00 JUST FOR THE PIECE! Is this true? Or was he thinking of something else?! Wow, for that much, ill pay $50 and mount it custom!

I have heard of higher prices than that.

Get the kit for $249 at everythingg35.com. http://www.g35parts.com/9083/osc/pro...roducts_id=285

Check your VIN to see if you are prewired (on the everythingg35 website) and is you aren't, you'll need the $57 cable too.

It's not difficult to install it yourself.

WOw, what a joke! On TOP of all that, you still have to pay for the monthly membership! I cant believe all this just to get satellite! I have it wired in my truck with a docking station. Cost me $50, and i get a cool little unit too!

That's the price you have to pay for a fully integrated unit controlled by the radio. Although it is still over twice what the satellite units cost for aftermarket radios.

Yea, that was my next question. Why not put that money into buying a new, nice head unit? Possible TV? Stupid...

Well, to install a double DIN head unit, you still have to spens nearly$300 for the trim piece and AC controller before the cost of the HU, harnesses, and adapters are factored into it.

It all boils down to whether you want a factory look and function. If that matters to you, it will cost a little more money.
