Which power source should I use?

Which power source should I use?
I'll be attempting to install a permanent bluetooth phone system in my G coupe this week. I would like to know which power source I should use to connect the wires. Right now I'm guessing I'll use the power wires from the driver's side cig lighter. Would that be the right one to use? Is there a better place to splice in power wires on the driver's side?
Thanks.

Yeah that's a great power source to tap into for switched power. It only takes about 4 screws to get to it.

Re: Which power source should I use?
I will be installing the Sony Ericsson HCB-30. I believe I've read somewhere that you just need a switched power source. Basically you're supposed to turn the car on and the phone should connect to it via Bluetooth.
Thanks for the responses.

Re: Which power source should I use?
That kit DOES have both always-on and ignition-sense connections. In addition, it has optional mute capability. Do a search and you'll find my post on how to do that also. Of course, you will need to wire the mic and external speaker connections, too. And it may be possible to wire the latter into the head unit to sound through the car speakers just like the Nav voice. Good luck.

Re: Which power source should I use?
Have you seen the Sony Ericsson kit installed on a G or another car? Is it a difficult job? I'm having a hard time picturing where to mount the speaker and the receiver. Of course, since I don't have the kit in hand yet it's hard for me to tell. I hope it's something I can do myself. Otherwise, it'll be off to a car audio installer. I didn't get the mute option so I'll be getting the sound from the speaker.
Thanks.

Re: Which power source should I use?
See here for more info online. I also think that the mute function is built into the Ericsson unit, standard. I believe the mute "kit" is for cars that don't have the function already in the head unit (the G35's does, but there's a trick). The "kit" is a speaker disengage/engage relay setup.

Re: Which power source should I use?
Ha, that's the same review I found on the web. I should be getting the kit Thursday and will see how easy/hard it's going to be for the G.
Thanks for your help!

Re: Which power source should I use?
Ok, the switched power source was easy enough to identify (cigarette lighter), but I don't know which "constant" power source to use. Is there anything on the interior of the car that goes directly to the battery?
Thanks.

Re: Which power source should I use?
I'm thinking about tapping into the power seats for the constant source. Is there any other constant power source around the driver's area?
Thanks.

Re: Which power source should I use?
For constant (or "always-on) power, you have two choices: (1) The fuze block at the driver's left foot; here you can use a micro fuze tap easily, or (2) wire from the car battery and pass through the firewall; there is a post on this in the FAQ/DIY section.

Re: Which power source should I use?
That fuse block sounds like what I'm looking for. Can you point me toward the micro fuse I need? Where can I get one? What brand?
I think I'm close to doing this thing myself. Thanks a lot for all the help!

Re: Which power source should I use?
Here is a pic. The item you want is a "mini fuse tap", available from your local auto parts store. The small rectangular opening (fuzzy focus) is where the end of a fuse blade inserts. The small round opening is a solder connection. Find an existing fuse that is constant power and slip the tap over it.
