Re: Anyone get a hold of the NAV TUNER CROOK

I filed with square trade a long time ago. Im not the one that's not being rational. now instead of him just giving back my money now IM trying to mess up his fake av. tuner business by stalking his ebay accounts and warning all his potential customers. I wont let this guy steal my money and get away with it.

Re: Anyone get a hold of the NAV TUNER CROOK

This is a long one !!!!!!

got a response from the seller and here it is my case with square trade

need input from you guys tell me if you feel i have proven my case with him. and if not try to help

Who Filed the Case:
setrak budak (bigapplevip)
Who's the Respondent to the Case:
Paul B <asuh8er01@y***o.com>
seller (eBay User ID: 4tun8fool)
Description of Goods:
OEM NAV TV /DVD Upgrade for Infiniti G35

Dollar amount of case:
$365.00

Transaction Date:
Monday, February 16, 2004

Case Issues:

setrak budak's reported problems:
Merchandise different than described.
No response to my messages.

Further Details About the Problem:
hi there Basically what the seller did was advertise an "AV. ELECTRONICS" NAV-tuner unit. What the unit is supposed to do is hack into a car navigation screen and allow for auxiliary video inputs. The 1st problem is the unit is not made by AV. the and is that the unit is not even a NAV-tuner. what that means it cant connect to any navigation unit. It doesn't have an RBG converter. the AV. unit does. I contacted the sell several time at first he wanted to make me happy but once i said i want a full refund he stopped communicating with me. so basically all i want is my money back and i have his unit here and i want to send it back so to sum it all up the unit not only is not the same brand as advertised it doesn't do what its supposed to do as well here is a link to AV. it might help if your confused with what the product is supposed to do http://www.avelectronic.com/ thanx for helping getting my money back
setrak budak's requested solutions:
I would be willing to accept a full or partial refund. ($350.00)
I would like to return the item and I will pay for return shipping.
I would like to cancel this transaction.

Paul B's response:

The unit sold is identicle in appearance and matches up 100% with the "main features" of the Avelectronics unit. No where on the Avelectronics site does it mention anything about an RGB converter, and the customer never asked if my unit ships with one. It is impossible to know for sure if the avelectronics unit even ships with an RGB converter. I took and included close-up pictures of the unit showing exactly he was going to get with in my auction. I do not feel I am to blame for this error in judgement.

Can you please show me proof that the unit you bought is deficient? Require pic's of the "rgb converter" and a diagram or schematic that shows that it works in a G35. If avelectronics incorporates this in their units, then they should have documentation right?

You have 72 hours, then it's case closed.

FROM ME TO HIM

ok got to the AV page

http://www.avelectronic.com/ProductP...erComplet1.jpg

look at there nav tuner you see the wires coming out of the unit with the remote in the middle. that is the RBG converter

now go to this page and read

http://www.avelectronic.com/NavigationTV-Tuner.htm

""As a stand alone system, designed with DIY in mind, it will allow factory navigation screen to display Broadcast Television, Rearview Vision and other external Video Sources.""

""Plug&Play Navigation-cable Version (No wire cutting) available for: Acura, Audi w/NaviPlus, Honda, Lexus, Toyota, Infiniti G35 (require to cut ONLY 1 wire). We are working to have more Plug&Play versions for other make of vehicles. ""

your unit does not offer this key feature as well

See im not trying to give you a hard time but u even put on your ebay page 30 day return with a valid reason I gave you more than one and all I wanted was my money back.

The RBG converter come hardwired into the av. unit. And they even go as far as making custom ones for each manufacturer. And even if u said" like unit or identical" it still in not a NAV tuner. What u sent was an RCA tuner. no factory navigation unit uses RCA's. So it might do everything the same but if its not made for a navigation unit its not a NAV tuner.

"EXAMPLE"

its like you advertise a dvd player that is made for a High Definition TV HD-DVD PLAYER "high definition means at least component inputs" and sent a player that only uses RCA. the whole thing is the capability for the unit to work on that specific screen and quality. and even if they are both dvd players. the one the customer received is not a high definition player. and that is what the customer wants, needs, and paid for

Re: Anyone get a hold of the NAV TUNER CROOK

Hey guys, heres what I did to resolve a problem with a seller in another state who promised me a product that I never got.
Now keep in mind that I was one person in one state vs. another person in another state who I had never seen. First of all contact the attorney general for that state as a group, even the guys who are covered by mastercard. This helps your other forum brothers who are stuck. Also, contact the
Better Business Bureau for the state he is located in. Contact the sheriffs office for the state he is in . Finally contaact the chamber of commerce for the state he is in. With the steps you are already taking, you should get results.

Re: Anyone get a hold of the NAV TUNER CROOK

Paul B has contacted us asking us to close the case, for the following reason:

"Other party has breached Square Trades Confidentiality Policy by posting the case details on another website. I would like the negative feedback he left considered for removal."

Irrespective of whether you agree with closing the case at this time, we must now close it because our service is voluntary. If you would like to pursue further options, you may want to contact eBay by clicking here.

Sincerely,

SquareTrade Customer Support

Re: Anyone get a hold of the NAV TUNER CROOK

Guys, just my opinion here:
I wouldn't buy a AV unit from eBay unless it is specifically stipulated in the auction that it is from an authorized dealer. Honestly, for such an expensive product, you never know if someone tried to install it and just fried it. You want to make sure that AV supports the dealer who sells it.

The AV Units are pretty easy to make 'look new' - you can pack it very easily as well. Plus, the eBay guy isn't really giving a great price (buy it now: $550?).

Just my $0.02...
