Should I go with Kappas with an aftermarket amp?

I bought my 2005 premium sedan about 3 years ago. At the time, I had an amp and sub from my previous car, but I decided not to install it immediately as I planned to upgrade both later.

Three years later, I still haven't upgraded and I've decided to stop torturing myself and install the stuff I have. I also want to replace the terrible stock speakers. I'm wondering if I should get Kappas (as I've planned) or look for a better aftermarket speaker solution.

I'm using a Rockford Fosgate Power 600.5 five-channel amp. It's 50W RMS per channel at 4 Ohms or 100W RMS per channel at 2 Ohms. The fifth channel is spoken for and I've already matched a DVC Alpine r-series sub, so that's all set.

My plan was to buy the Kappa 60.7cs (2 Ohms rated for 90W RMS) for the front and the Kappa 62.7i (2 Ohms rated for 75W RMS) for the rear doors.

I'm looking at the Kappas because I've had good experiences with them in the past, and because they are rated very closely to the RMS power rating of my amp at 2 Ohms. Should I be looking for other 4 Ohm or 2 Ohm solutions? I've seen a lot of people recommending the Kappas, but that seems to be because they're a 2 Ohm impedance, which matches the stock Bose amp. Since I'm replacing the amp, maybe this isn't the way to go for me.

Will I be dissapointed with the Kappas on my Fosgate amp? Should I be looking at other options for this amp? Which options?

FYI, I plan to upgrade the HU eventually, but not for a while.

Thanks in advance for your input.

If your amp is comfortable with 2 ohm loads, you can get the Kappas. I haven't heard them but I'm pretty sure you can get better. Most people get the Kappas in 2 ohm for compatability with the Bose amp.

4 ohm speakers will likely cause you to have less distortion and will probably help the RF amp run cooler.

Go over to the car audio forums. Everyone is raving about the Phoenix gold 6.5 rsd components. I just got some for that reason and they sound incredible. Best of all, they are $87 shipped.
