Low Level Converter?
I have a rf punch 401s amp that is hooked up via PAC SNI 8 after the bose amp in my 04 coupe the output from the head unit is not a strong enough signal to come through the loc to my amp. Any suggestions on whether an adjustable converter will solve the problem and allow me to run off the signal before the bose amp? I am currently looking at the PAC SNI 35 is that one good? Thanks in advance.
You can just use a speaker wire to rca connection since your amp accepts speaker level inputs. You can purchase the one made by jl audio which is already cut and has the speaker wires ready for wiring or buy a set of rca's. chop one side off, and use the wires to tap into the rear speaker wires...
Make sure you tap into the wires before the bose amp though. Heres the diy...

I thought in order for the speaker to rca's to work the amp had to be able to receive balanced inputs. I know my amp (2003 rockford fosgate punch 401s) accepts speaker level inputs but I don't know about balanced inputs. Anyone know if my amp will work with speaker to rca's, right now i am having to use a loc.
I have a pdf manual for the amp and it doesn't mention anything about accepting balanced inputs so I am not sure if the speaker to rca's will work. I do know that the rca inputs on my amp will accept voltages as low as 1000 millivolts, but the speaker level inputs will accept input voltages as low as 2V so it pretty much rules out the use of the speaker level inputs pre bose amp. I guess the worse that could happen is that i have to use a loc like I am now only one that is adjustable. If this occurs what type should I get, I am thinking about the PAC SNI 35. I just want to make sure it can actually produce a strong enough signal pre bose amp to send to my punch amp. The one I am currently using (PAC SNI 8) would not produce a strong enough signal for the amp to do anything with when I wired it pre bose amp but it is a non adjustable model that was purchased several years ago.

I would bet that your amp will accept the OEM low level input just fine without an LOC.
It did, you're so smart, thank you for all the help guys the signal seems much better now and I have bass that is clean and smooth all through out the range now. Gilley if you're ever in GA and feel like coming by my place I'll buy you a beer.
I'm glad it worked out for you.
