Try to decide what speakers to get
I have an 03 Sedan with the bose system. Needless to say it leaves something to be desierd. I have been searching around trying to find information on some Mb Quart, Focal, and Alpine type R speakers. Im looking to spend around $200 per pair of speakers and I dont know what brand makes the better sounding speaker for that money. What do you all think?

a/d/s 2-series comes to mind. They make excellent sounding speakers and are very respected in the audio field. While the 2 series doesn't sound as good as the 3 series, it has very good sound for the money. CDT speakers also come to mind, as they have good value, but in my opinion, the 2 series sounds better. The 2 series are a little bit over 200 while the CDT's are a little bit under.

well, i can second that! i have heard the ADS's 236IS in installer's own car, all i can say is...."sweet" very smoooooothe and best of all, you dont get that listener fatigue like some other brands that use titanium tweeters, have listen to few other brands, i end up with the 641IS (3 way) front, and for the rear 346IM, which are coaxial, but it come with an external crossover! after eight months, i am still very happy with them.

g35john...for around two bills, try audiobahn's abc600, boston auousitc's rc620, diamond audio's m361 and eclipse's sp8362, i recommond those cause i have heard them before either in-car or at a shop, but i can not tell you which one are "better", you will have to figure it out when you go out and listen to few of them...s.w

I second the MB Quart P series. I have the PCE 216 up front. If you like to hear the sizzle in cymbals...these are the ones to get. Some may think MB Quarts sound harsh...but that's with the older series.

Re: Try to decide what speakers to get
has anyone ever heard of cadence I had them in my previous car. I bought them just because I'm a dealer through my company just because they were fairly cheap to me so I got the m and I was very impressed with them so I would check them out here is the link http://www.cadencesound.com/action.l...ue=240&-search .
As for the A/d/s I can get those pretty cheap also but I have never heard them so if you wan't the hookups I got it.

Re: Try to decide what speakers to get
I had some ADS components and really liked their sound (much better than the Quarts I had, but those were very old.) They had good sized magnets, though, so I would be careful with the depth in your doors. I would suggest going and taking a listen to them, especially if you can get a good deal.

Re: Try to decide what speakers to get
i have the focal utopia 6.5 and 5 1/4 for the fronts and the rear. i can say the midrange is awesome. The high is very detail. In another word, it might be little bright. Not as bright as the MB.
I normally leave the rear off unless watching 5.1 dts/DD. If i were you, i would spend more money on the fronts and forget the rear. You don't need the rear speaker if you want imaging.
