Clock question

I was looking at my clock, I took it out... now the light dosen't work. I only thought there was one clip to plug the clock in. Could I have damaged my light at all? Someone help, who knows about the light in our clock I haven't opened it up again to see what was up.

Thanks - Joey Avino

Re: Clock question

You're right, there's only one clip. You might have bumped something inside but I doubt it. Pop it off again, pull the plug, and insert it again.

Re: Clock question

Okay so I opened up my clock today to look at it. Nothing out of the ordinary, light still does not work. Now my red LED security light STAYS on COMPLETLY when the car is locked, it does not blink, it's now solid red. WTF is going on? I wonder if Infiniti will bitch @ me if I bring it in, I'm going to try to reset the ECU tonight!

Thanks - Joey Avino

Re: Clock question

The security LED will stay on solid for like 45 seconds or so immediatly after you lock the car, it will then start to blink. I didn't even notice this until like 6 months after having the car. If yours just stays solid forever, it may be a serious problem cause the blinking is controlled by the BCM not just the LCD circuit. As for your light problem, whip out a voltmeter, start out testing the connection for voltage, then move down the circuit in the clock until you have localized the problem, hopefully you'll figure out a way to fix it then.

I any case DON'T TELL INFINITI you did anything to your car. Whenever your talking to a dealer your best bet is to lie as much as possible. They will try and screw you regardless of how easy the fix is.

Re: Clock question

Didn't they have a tsb on the clocks? I believe it said something to the effect that the bulbs do not tend to last very long. I have noticed that my clock does not light up either and haven't popped it out yet. Maybe this could be the cause of the light not turning on in the clock.

Re: Clock question

I fixed the blinking, i dunno what it was, after 45 seconds it was NOT blinking but now it works. Infiniti is going to replace my LED's for me, first, before I do anything, I'm going to radio shack and buying blue LED's and see if they work. If they don't there is something else wrong with the clock but I would rather have blue . I'll let you know how it turns out.
