Amp Ground
I'm wiring up my aftermarket amp replacing my old aftermarket amp when I connected the ground then my 12v hookup and there was a major spark. My fuse blew so I replaced it and it blew as well. The wire rating is the same as my last amp and nothing has changed. I tried to hook it up in reverse with the power first then the ground.
I wouldn't think I needed to route a new amp kit because the wire rating is the same and hasn't been moved. Ground is still in the same place and power is obviously going to the battery.
By the way, the amp is an Infinity 5 channel and the wire rating is 8 gauge (ground and 12v). I think it's the amp, brand new, but something isn't right.
Any help?

I had it tested and it's bad. I hooked it up to an independent power source and it sparked just the same as my car's hook-up. I'm getting this amp but first....what do you all think?
