I spent about an hour last night comparing my brother's 03 g35 stock sound system (non bose) to my amped mb quart qsd 216 components with 1 10" sub in my 350z.

My first impression is that the bass from the mids in the G POUNDS! I had the treble and bass at +5 and even with the volume at 11-12 the bass was pretty good, almost like have a sub in the car actually. Whereas my mids in the Z put out almost no bass and i need my 10" sub running to match the bass of the G. Even the highs are argueably better in the G. They are cleaner whereas mine are a little fuller. But sound is so subjective that the only reason i'm comparing is because the G is stock but the Z is not.

My question is for those who upgrade their sound system, is there no doubt in your mind that it's better than it was stock?

Also, is the stock system that good, or is my system either set up that horribly or my component speakers just suck (everything in stock location and tuned by a pro, also no equalizer on my aftermarket HU).

Any opinions appreciated thx.

 

when you say the stock system do you mean the blose system or the actual stock system? ive heard that the actual stock system is better than the bose

 

^^ umm... obviously audiophiles... well when you say the "stock" system is "better" than the bose thats comes w/ premium I hope you mean that the lows are "louder". By no means is the stock system as good as the bose quality of audio wise... but the bose will not hang compared to ANY after market setup. But simply as far as base... the non bose systems that come stock on the G are much "louder" but absolutely not clearer...

i think this definetly has more to do with how your system is installed/tuned and the equipnent used...

IMO the stock G system is pretty horrid, bose or non bose...and i can deifnetly say every system i have done for G customers have given a pretty big improvement over stock

its not bad for stock. i have the stock bose with a 12inch kicker in the trunk.. not that bad for a "stock" system. but as others have said any aftermarket system would sound way better.

 

They both lick *****. Terrible quality...no power or range.
