Hope this isn't too newb of a question. I didn't want the NAV unit when I bought the car. Just got a bonus though and now I am wishing I had the NAV unit. How practical is this?

$6000.00 if you piece it together and then it is not covered by the Infiniti warranty (even if they install it). I suggest aftermarket, ie. Kenwood, Alpine or Pioneer.

Re: Can NAVI unit be added post factory?
We installed a Pioneer touch screen Nav system in a FX35 that would be similar to what you would have to do to in a G. It went in the location of the sun glasses holder up by the rear view mirror. It actually came out really nice and better that the stock because it is touchscreen and the stock unit has to be controlled by the joy stick. It would cost around $3,300 installed with the custom fabrication of the piece to hold the screen. Less if you want to mount the screen somewhere else. Sorry for the blurry pix.

Hey guys both me and the wife are looking to get a NAV put on our cars.

I have the G-35
and she has the FX
I pretty much know what I am going to do with mine, but after seeing your work, I am not quite sure what to do with hers.

We were thinking about putting a touchscreen where the center speaker is on the upper dash. Fab something that would cause it to flip up/down.

Is that to out-there?
