I'm lost when it comes to car audio, so I figured it'd be alot easier to just ask you guys. My stock radio is garbage, so I wanna replace it. My brother has a Alpine iva-d300 laying around and is letting me put it in my car. So what all do I need?

From what I found out in the search, I need a DD kit, which runs about $200ish? Then there was something else that I need to buy to allow steering wheel control. Do I need to buy something so the Navi would be enabled?

Sorry for the noob questions, I just wanna replace is at soon as possible, so I need to know what I should buy first.

 

I've ordered a whole pile of stuff to do the install myself, so here is what you will need.

- Double din conversion kit with A/C controller. About $250-$280 for the JDM version
- Nissan wiring harness, nissan antenna adapter (cheap, any stereo shop)
- PAC SWI-JACK steering wheel interface. Google this one, installation is ...involved.

i know nothing about the IVA-d300, so can't help with the specifics on that one.

 

i had the iva d300 in my 330ci and lost steering wheel functionality. i asked my installer if he could not lose this function but i got the "you can but it will cost me hours and you lots of money look". dont know anything about the install though. good luck the d300 will look very nice

 

well from what i read on pac's site is that bmw's are not that compatible with the SWI...but someone correct me if im wrong
