G35 Sedan, stock factory system - questions
G35 Sedan, stock factory system - questions
I tried to find this info but failed. I have the stock 6-CD changer, "non-Bose" to my knowledge. Before tearing into it, I'd like to know if it is all powered from the dash unit or if there is amps elsewhere in the car. Can someone please describe the configuration of this stock system? Other suggestions/warnings would be appreciated too. I'm leary of the life span of this unit.
One other thing, if any one has the real details of this, i.e. color coded wiring diagrams, that'd be great.
Thanks!<P ID="edit"><FONT class="small"><EM>Edited by craigs on 03/26/04 08:35 AM.</EM></FONT></P>

Re: G35 Sedan, stock factory system - questions
Someone posted here that the base (non-BOSE) does not have external amps (afer looking in the service manual). This was for the coupe, but my guess is the sedan would be the same, though I could be wrong.
Search for "base amp location".
I've run across the wiring diagrams, but only for the Bose system if I recall correctly.

Re: G35 Sedan, stock factory system - questions
Thanks, that what I was hoping to hear. I'm just taking the easy route and adding a very old Alphasonic Autoub amp I have laying around that taps into speaker line level inputs. It's not great but drastically improves any stock stereo, adds some thump otherwise missing. I'm sure some old timers will get a chuckle out of this
Thanks again! I hope you are correct.
