Finished first double din install

Got the double din equipment from J's Garage today. Decided not to wait for the AVIC-N1 to be released, so I installed my old DEH-P9400MP. I got the AL700 double din, which according to another thread is aluminum and not titanium. I contacted J's and they will look into it as these are the parts Nissan is sending out for Titanium. Rather than wait, I decided to install it anyways, and under the same light conditions, it looks exactly the same as the lower part of my dash, so I can only conclude that it IS titanium even if the part number doesn't match.

Retaining the dual climate was not very difficult at all. Just needed to heat the solder around the little button, move it off with a small screw driver. And do the opposite to put it back on. I forgot that the nissan antenna plug doesn't fit aftermarket decks. Luckily I had an adapter from my Pathfinder. I've installed many headunits before and this one took the longest because you pretty much have to take everything apart. On the other hand, it also means my stereo will likely not be stolen.

they all look different colour to me!
but on the e-mail he wrote:
The color seems to be a little different by the photograph though these
photographs are the same all parts (a double din dash titanium color).

The thing is that with the metallic finish, it looks quite different under different lighting conditions. Here's a picture in sunlight and it looks exactly the same.

Re: Finished first double din install

I got the same email with photos attached. They all looked different in color to me, with part AL700. I asked him to send it anyways. Hopefully it'll match ok...

Re: Finished first double din install

That's the Nismo Titanium shift **** (non-GT).

Well, mine is the AL700 and it matches perfectly to my eyes and the eyes of my girlfriend. From the picture above, if there is a difference, I certainly can't tell it.

I suggested to Yoshi to see if Nissan even offers a silver or aluminum interior, and if not, it must be titanium. Hopefully I'll get an email soon. In any case, I'm keeping the one I have.

You should've have ordered and received the AM913 titanium colored dash. That's the one I ordered and it matched perfectly.

Re: Finished first double din install

Hate to bring this question up again, but for that AL700 dash, what else did you order? exact part #s for the setup W/O Nav...exactly as joepaniolo has it setup, pocket and all...

I emailed J's Garage and I'm just confirming the parts before I order....THANKS!!!
