Does this antenna need to be mounted on metal, or can I mount it on glass?

The XMicro is designed for optimum use over a metal surface, and it comes with a magnetic attachment. But you may get satisfactory reception even on glass. See here for more info:

You can probably put the Terk antenna on the rear deck or the front dash without any metal directly underneath. I have Terk XM3 that sits on my front dash (thanks to Cruz for that idea) secured with some double-sided foam tape. I have great reception with that, so I would assume the XM Micro would work well there also.

FYI: I found that Circuitcity.com (not the stores yet) has them in stock, with free shipping. They don't, however, have the 1-to-2 adapter which is required for use on the Infiniti/Clarion receiver.
