I just recently did a DD Kit install. I was going to put in the dual climate control button but how about drilling a hole for the mic in the blank button and putting some black speaker cloth over the blank button? Would the mic be too far away?
Also, I was going to put the control unit in the ashtray. I figured it's more accessible there anyway.

Put it on the card holder above the driver's side window

I saw that method. Not sure if it will sound good or not. I've been told it sounds fine but I don't want to feel like i'm lifting my head to talk while i'm driving nor yelling to make sure the person on the other end hears me. I don't want to look like i'm having crazy road rage while sitting at a stop light.
