The millionth double din dash question
Please forgive this question, I read all the post and either can not find the right answer or it hasn't been mentioned.
Well, I just ordered my speakers and head unit and wires. Still deciding on the amps.
But I have to figure out the dash thing. Here is my problem, the dashes order from japanparts.com and J's garage are different in the way they either DO or DO NOT go around the two A/C vents. Does anyone know why this is or what the differences to part numbers are, etc?
I have a 2004 Coupe 6MT with the titanium dash. My center dash piece does NOT go around the A/C vents.
I have seen this part number: 68260-AM913
I think this is right but the A/C vent thing has me scared. Here are examples of what I am talking about:
The first picture shows the "extra" area that goes around the A/C vents. Mine is not like this.
2004 G35 Coupe 6MT
Volk GT-7's/ TEIN Basics
Falken 245/35/ZR19 & 285/35ZR19
Kinetix Racing Camber Rods/ K&N Typhoon CAI

Does my question make sense?
Oh, and thanks to those who I stole their pictures from.
Thanks in advance to anyone who can shed some light.

Re: The millionth double din dash question
There is only one part and the first picture shows it uninstalled. What happens is that the vents actually are removable and attached to the double din by clips. The titanium bridges that contact the main part of the double din to the black colored parts will not be visible after install.

Re: The millionth double din dash question
Just to clear things up for good too....
When you order the AM913 TITANIUM dash piece from J's or japanparts.com, that is the correct part to order.
When Nissan Japan gets the original UNPAINTED dash piece, its a neutral color and its labled "AL700" on the back of the dash. Go look at your new replacement japan dash and it will have AL700. You'll go "WTF?"
But, then Nissan paints the dash either titanium, willow or black and then labels them AM913, etc. The factory box you get from Nissan should be labled AM913 on the side and that is the correct part despite the actual dash part reading AL700 on the back.
Does this make sense? A lot of people were thinking they were getting the wrong color part b/c it said AL700 on the back. But, according to J's, Nissan only makes Titanium, black and willow....there IS NO aluminum colored dash. So if you order and get the AM913, it WILL match your original titanium Infiniti G35 dash color.

Re: The millionth double din dash question
That makes perfect sense.
I actually got that from Yoshi's post in your other thread.
I have emailed both of them to see if someone can get me all parts. I only seen the dash piece itself on japanparts.com
Thanks again,
J.

Re: The millionth double din dash question
I don't know why japanparts.com doesn't have the AC controller and the dashpocket, aluminum bracket listed on their site. Why would someone JUST want the dash piece w/o everything else?!?!?! Seems silly.
I think someone else said that japanparts.com can obtain the other parts but would have to special order from Nissan as opposed to having them in their stock.
I would rather go to a dealer like J's that have a lot of experience in this and with international shipping as well as just having great personalized customer service with timely communications/emails like Yosi from J's. I felt like a valued well-known customer who they knew by name and not only by a paid-in-full order number.

Re: The millionth double din dash question
I got mine through J's and Yoshi provided great service and didn't mind all the emails I sent and answered them promptly. The parts actually didn't take as long as I thought to get and costs ~$400 for everything you need shipped. The part where you fax them your license is a bit odd, but just blank out your license # and it's not an issue (they use it to confirm the shipping address).
