I'm thinking of buying some car audio equipment and wondering when new gear typically comes out? I'm not in a huge rush to pull the trigger, so I'd like to see if something better is coming or get a better deal on current equipment.

 

Typically, new items come out between January to March, however, select items may not come out til later.

 

Pioneer will be releasing more new HU this summer probably june....I have alredy seen the new Avic-Z3.

What are you in the market for?

 

Dynaudio will be releasing a new set of automotive speakers based of the esotar series of home driver.
Will definately be one of the best speakers on the market.

Also people seem excited about the soon to be released (2 years ago) JBL MS8 and now the Audison Bit1.

As for audio most believe "old school" is the best.
Many famous companies were purchased and driven to the ground by others in search of profit (Lanzar, Orion, PPI, A/D/S, Hifonics, MBQuart, soundstream etc).

As for playing the waiting game, for a DD HU w/HD and nav maybe, everything else you can probably find something that does everything just as well as anything coming in the next year.

Do some research and you will be surprised what you find.

The Esotars are already released a few weeks back. Then again this thread is a week or so old.

Bit1 is scheduled to ship in the fall.
