^ well i already have the 12w7 sitting in my closet its the other components im working on, couldn't i build up 500.1 with another sub to create the same effect of a 1000.1?

 

Tha Alpine PDX amps are a good choice that will need less power and space than the 1000/1 or any of the JL slash amps. JL is coming out with their own line of amps similar to the PDX amps.

 

very good amp but it wont power the w7 to its full capacity

 

I am going to run the 12w7 on the new JL HD750/1 I already have the HD600/4 running 2 sets of Polk SR series 6.5.

 

Just wondering how it's any different? Both have regulated power supplies and both put out 1,000w rms. I ran my PDX 1.1000 at 1.4 ohms as well, so it can go below 2 ohms, but you do have to know how to properly set your gains so the amp won't go into protect.
