I was looking around for some replacement surface mount LEDs to change the colours of the band indicators in my V-1 Remote Display. Thought I'd just do the X band in green and the K in yellow and leave the Ka and Laser in red since Ka has a very distinctly different sound from K, and Laser has its own indication. Problem is, I can't seem to find the right size surface mount LED locally.

So in the interim, I decided to play with what I have now.

I'm pretty happy with the result. The X and K are actually sharper and clearer than they appear in the pic and don't have the glow that surrounds the letter (and in the ambient light sensor window of course).

I was thinking of getting one of those multi-colored displays off Ebay.
