capacitor?
capacitor?
Hello all I am going to be running all new Kappa speakers in my 04 g35 coupe. I am also going to be putting a 4channel amp on the speakers as well as a 10inch sub with another amp . So total 2 amps, subwoofer, and new speakers. My question is do I need a capacitor for all this? I dont wanna be driving down the street with my head lights flickering....any help would be appreciated...THANKS

Not at all. To little power to need a cap. I am running a JL 1000.1 with 2 12W6V2's, a 300.4 and Boston Acoustic Pro Series components and I am fine without the cap.
i get a discount at circuit city through a friend and they have this amp kit

it only costs like $90 after discount but it comes with the cap so thats why i wanted to know if i should use it or just sell it. the kit without the cap only come to $20 cheaper so for that price I wouldnt mind having one...even if it only makes minor improvements

If you do get a cap, get a 1/2 farad.
I have a JL 500/1 Amp with RBC-1, two JL 10W3v3, a Monster 1/2 farad cap, and a Yellow Top.
(I also have the UR underdrive pulleys, and I have no dimming problems)

A cap made a difference with my system with Alpine 1000 watt and 600 watt amps. Without it, the light would dim. I made it part of the installation display too, since it has a voltmeter built in.
For the price of that Circuit City kit, you could get the kit and install the system without the cap and if your car needs it, then add it into the system. Or just go ahead and install it. It won't hurt anything.

This capacitor has the voltage meter display as well so for the $20 extra its gonna cost me I think im just gonna install it anyways....Thanks for everyones input
