Re: Need a speaker recommendation
some very good suggestions, you guys are great.
But I do not have any money left over from wheels/TT to spend on a "good" system. Again, I am not an audiophile, just looking for clarity. I do NOT even have an amp (I've got the stock NON-Bose system).
Infinity Baselink kind of grabbed my attention - I have seen it on a sedan. It's a self-contained black box unit, right? Do you run the wires to the main 4 speakers through the basslink or still directly from the HU?

Yes, it's a self contained box....see pict above.
You do not wire the 4 main speakers through the sub. Just need to tie into the signal going to the Amp, or rear speakers. If you just tie into the rear speakers, the bass will be dependant on the fader. Just keep that in mind. Not difficult at all, and the instuctions that come with the Basslink is very good.

Also, guys, when I install the sub in, I should make sure that the low end does nto go to the in cabin speakers right? Are there capacitors or smth that I need to buy and connect in line with the inputs to the main speakers that will cut off the low end frequencies.

Actually, it's around $200 or above. Etronics has it for $209 here: http://www.etronics.com/product.asp?...de=infbasslink
The $75 sub needed a separate amp, and enclosure. Sorry for the confusion.
The Basslink has built in low pass filters, so you don't need anything in the line, just hook it straight to the high inputs. It takes care of the rest. You will need to run the Power cable to the battery, and will need a grounding point on the body of the car in the trunk. Follow that link above to learn more about that all in one sub.

Re: Need a speaker recommendation
What would you audio guys think about installing the Focal utopia 165w in the front and the Focal 5ws in the rear doors? I plan on using the stock h/u and a precision power dcx 600.4 amp. I want a decent full range setup, no need for a sub right now.
Sorry for the hijack, I haven't gotten much respons on other posts.
Thanks
