I had a jl 10w3 with a 250/1 jl amp and it really hit hard. The amp blew though after a year and the custom box was made terribly so everything started to really suck after a while.
I had that in my FX though and I'm going to be getting a 10" hertz sub and an image dynamics amp in my g35.
