Need help on a complete new sound system

Not sure where to start here guys. Not going to be able to purcahse everything at once so its going to be a once at a time proscess. I dont have the bose system. I want an in dash dvd/nav. I want good and crisp highs/mids and maybe one 12 for some nice lows. Just got my g35 so dont know to much about what sounds good in these things. Any help with brands/models and where to start would be great.
Thanks guys,
Chris

JL is high end. Alot of people get it and you get what you pay for...the best. Theres alot of choices for in dash dvd/navi/ipod integration. Pioneer makes great DD units. You can PM one of the inifniti dealership sponsers to get info on buying the DD kit. the 05 - 07 are hard to obtain atm...i think they are still backordered. Look at what JL, Rockford Fosgate, and others offer. Although i would recommend JL if you are willing to spend the money. It's worth it.

Search through the forums and you'll get a plethera of information.

Are you planning on running the components off of an amp, price range, running a four channel to components all around or bi-amping the fronts only? I have been impressed by Memphis amps as of late, but you can never go wrong with Zapco or DLS. I would recommend Image Dynamics or Sea Lotus (depending on what you are going for) for the sub and comps are too specific to personal tastes, but I love the Polk SR's, Dynaudio, or Hertz.

Start with the HU and then the speakers and then amps and a sub. You will need the pieces for the DD kit. If your car is an 03-04, you will have an easier time finding the DD kit.

Who do I PM about one of those kits because I have an 07. For the speakers I really dont want to spend more than 400$. How hard is the install for speakers in these cars? I plan on doing it my self so I can learn the car.

You can check out JL's ZR speakers at a lot of local shops, and are almost in your price range. They are a like it or hate type of speaker, kind of harsh, but some think they sound detailed with good mids.

You can also find Focals in that range, they might suit your preference more. If you can get a hold of Nazar from www.my350z.com, no one beats his pricing on JL stuff and he is an authorized dealer with great service.

personally id get a woofer first. if u got the funds get the jl w7 or an alpine type x. i love bass so for me it was the first thing i got for my car, plus it will make the biggest difference in the sound of the music.

get some CDT componenets you can definetly find them in your price range. Ltrrtl218...why would u suggest he get a high powered sub like that instead of speakers first? There is absolutely no point unless u like sounding like a boom mobile from miles away. JL's are over prices, and the alpine type X or any of their subs are mediocre at best. Image dynamics, ARC, Diamond, etc is what i would do for your price range. Like i said i have 2 idmax's for sale, probably one of the best SQL subs out there and i can definetly work with you on the price, even have amps to go with the sub and/or for interiors. Let me know we can get ya going, and i can help u pick out some good comps for your set up

^like i said i like bass. the stock speakers are whatever but they sound good enough for me until i wanted to upgrade them. they have no bass what so ever so for me to add a sub made a huge difference when listening to music.

Rainbow is supposed to be good. Read the audio forum over on my350z.com. There are some hard core guys over there. Thats where I read alot about brands you never hear about that are better and cheaper than the name brands.

If you head over to my350z.com you can read some posts are ask Spike100, 16psiBrick, or DVFlyer for some advice. They have gone through numerous installs, products, and brands. Everyone there are big DLS, Rainbow, RE Audio, and Diamond fans. As long as you don't mention JL Audio you will be fine.
