I'm wondering if anyone has figured out a way to get the navi to automatically pop up when starting the engine, and if possible automatically slide down then shutting off (Maybe motor install or something) so that the car doesn't get broken into. I just got my G and see it very seldom that I turn on the navi, but I want to get full use of it everytime since it was a pretty expensive option. I tried searching for this in the threads, but can't seem to find anything about this. Any info would help. Thanks

 

Mine does do that. When I start the car it goes up and it closes when I shut the car off. What year is your car?

 

On 03-04 coupes I believe it was a spring loaded popup system.
On 05-07, it's motorized and depending on if it is up or down when you turn your car off, it will go down automatically when the car is off and come back up when it's on. And if it's down before the car is off, it will stay that way.
I usually leave mine down unless I need it...IMO, no need to put extra stress on a motor going up and down a million times if I'm not even looking at the nav.
Just one more part to replace if it breaks and I imagine it would be expensive.

 

It's an '04. Hmm, anyway to integrate the motor from the 05's???
