9500ci install input plz.
Looking for some input on where you guys would install a few components of the 9500 ci. in an 08 G35S
First question in about the front laser shifters. Look slike I have two choices:
They will fit in the grill but will only be about 14" apart.
or
I can put them in the the holes beneath the bumper (center or out to the side). In the second case they would be low and away from the grill and headlights which may be targeted by cyclops.
The next two I have visual aids for:
The display:

Very permanaent but not too tight. I think this is may favorite, though I don't know what's behind here. Only requires about 3/8" in depth.

Not sure how I would mount this but I'm sure a solution wouldn't be too difficult. on the headliner on the windshield side of the sunglass holder.

Bottom of instrument cluster.

Top of instrument cluster(blurry but the scale is visible). I don't think this is blocking anything.
Next is the Controller.

Mounting plate to replace the ash tray. Stealth with the lid closed.
Simple but, not so cool.

Once again simple with double stickey install. This may catch the eye of a spry law dog (if I were in VA)
Input would be great. I hate to make what I think is a good decision only to find out someone else has some great idea. Right now I'm leaning toward cutting the hole for the display, the controller under the ashtray lid and the laser shifters in the grill.

I saw a few years ago the receivers put into the grill and it seemed to work fine for the guy. I wouldn't go to the lower grill for the same reason you stated. When they target you they aim for your grill, headlight(s), or license tag for something to reflect the laser.
For the display I personally prefer somewhere inside the instrument cluster. I put my V1 remote there and I usually see the display change in my peripheral vision before it makes an alert sound.
I would tuck the controller away out of sight. I'm not familiar with the controls but I assume it's similar to most and you don't need constant access to it and won't use it much at all.

Thanks for the input. I'll be pulling some of the dash apart today and looking at options in the instrument cluster. There are also two LEDs that are designed to be placed in the instrument cluster.
I'll be taking some pictures of the install and placing them in the Sedan forum, it has taken on a life of it's own.
