Need answers for pioneer avic D3
I'm finding Avic D3's on sale for $599 around here.
Just wondering what other extra hardware do I NEED for the install?
So far I know i need a double din kit, and something called a pac swi or something.
Is that it?
How hard is it to do a self install? I'm not too familiar on how to dismantle the G's center console.. For my old car I was able to do it in about 15 seconds flat because of how many times I've done it.
Last but not least, can I get the unit for $599, plus all the hardware for Under or right at $1K?
Thanks in advance.
PS: What is a double din kit? I don't even know wtf that is?
I found this on ebay and it looks just like stock...http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/JDM-G...spagenameZWDVW

the PAC is just if u want to retain your steering wheel controls.
As far as the DD kit, its the plastic dash kit that goes around the head unit. you have to get a new one that can fit a double din in it, and u have to get the a/c adaptor b/c the factory one shares a circuit board w/ the HU.
I believe you'll also need the appropriate wiring harness and antenna adaptor (its been a while since I had mine done, so I don't remember). Personally I think these installs are a PITA, its more time consuming than anything and I didn't know how to take the dash apart.
g/l!
