Move Nav DVD Rom to Trunk?
Anyone done it yet? What I would like to do is move the nav DVD ROM from the cubby hole above the glove box to the trunk and put a dvd player in the open hole (with a little modification) where the NAV used to be. Does anyone know what this would involve? Besides the need wiiring are there any hangups that you can think of? Also come to thinko of it, what is in the DVD ROM location for those without NAV?

There are about 3 wiring harnesses connected to it. You'd be better off mounting the dvd player somewhere else and running 3 wires you can buy at walmart instead of 30-40 wires that will be a pain in the a$$ to find.

I'm just saying that there are 3 different wiring harnesses each with several wires (10-15). It would be a pain to match those up, extend them and re-fab a housing for a dvd player when you could just put a dvd player in the armrest or glove box.

dont forget that the nav system has a gyro and speed sensor, so by moving it, you have to make sure it is level and pointed in the right direction, although im sure there is a way to calibrate the direction, but the angle of mount needs to be level or near level (+/- 10 degrees usually)

The compass and speed sensor are not integral to the Nav DVD/CPU unit.
But overall, I can't imagine making extension bundles and connectors for this job. This would be tedious work, and unless National Security is at stake, falls into the "Mission Impossible" category!

Tried the ps2. It won't fit unless you modify/remove the door and cut out the entire ps2 housing.

Yah, fo sho. Please post pics when you can. I took apart my ps2 a while back to see if I could re-arrange it's components, but didn't think it could be done. Now you got me all excited about mounting my ps2 in the upper glove. Lookin at putting my xbox either under the bottom glove or in the trunk. Any suggestions?
