Do I need the OEM sirius antenna?

I am going to pull the trigger on buying a Sirius kit from grubbs, the price is really great. However, their price on the antenna seems a bit high. Do I need to use the OEM antenna, or can I use any universal Sirius antenna? eBay has antennas listed for like $10, much cheaper than $60. Does anyone know if I can get away with using a generic Sirius antenna?

I just looked at the install directions and the wires going into the tuner don't look quite the same as some of these universal antennas. Anyone know the story?

you should be able to make it work with an adapter if it's not the same. the connector for the infiniti tuner is kind of long and rectangular with a square face and release tab. if you post up the ebay link, maybe we can help you out.

Well there are MANY listed so I'll post a few eBay links..

This one looks like the connector piece is a bit different.. It's also the most popular..

Another one with the 90 degree connector...

I should have mentioned this is the one reason I am wary of universal antennas, but this picture from the OEM install kit instructions is what worries me. Notice the wires going into the tuner. No antenna I've seen for sale online has looked like that.

My tuner only uses 1 antenna line. I believe the older years used the splitter. I bought my antenna from Best Buy for 30 bucks and it hooked up fine to the OEM tuner.
