I found a set of the aforementioned Infinitys on craigslist, but the starfish tweeter mount isn't included. Is the starfish mount necessary to mount the tweeters in the OEM location?
The seller isn't including any tweeter mounting hardware, just the tweeters themselves.

 

looked at that series for the front components. You want those speakers to be the best quality out of all of your speakers so I wouldn't sacrifice quality to save a few bucks.

Personally, I didn't like the Kappa Separates compared to the Perfect 6.1's. If you hear them side by side, you can definately tell the difference. I would pony up the ~$239 and get the Perfects.

Most tweeters will drop right into the stock tweeter mounts....

I forgot to say why I'm going with the speakers. I want to just drop in a set of 2 ohm components to replace the OEM/Bose "components". I do have an extra 2 channel amp so I could amplify them down the road but for now I don't want to touch the Bose amp.

 

I've got Perfect 6.1's in the front. Pretty unbelievable. Best components I've heard yet. Tweeters can't be matched.
