my jl 300/4 amp isnt turning on
arghhh, i was just in my car listening to my music and all of sudden my speakers went out, i was listening to it pretty loud, 27 on my alpine headunit, and gain on my jl 300/4 between 9 and 10 o'clock on the dial for my components...
so i checked my amp and the power light is off, the amp was pretty hot... but my jl 500/1 still is working, but it was warm not hot... i tried letting it cool for a minute or so, and tried turning my headunit off an on, and when i turned my headunit on, the jl 500/1 came on fine, but the jl 300/4 power light would come on for a second and then go off...
sigh please tell me i didnt mess my amp up, i always been listenin to it pretty loud and never had a problem... do you think its cause its trying to cool down completely 1st to protect itself? im not sure how jl amps work... please tell me it aint this easy to destroy an amp... i checked my fuse by the battery and it was fine... its an 80amp fuse, not sure if this is enough for my setup... somebody please tell me something

Re: my jl 300/4 amp isnt turning on
check the fuses in your fuse block and the 2-3 fuses on your JL amp. You might have blown a fuse....
Hopefully, thats all it is......

Re: my jl 300/4 amp isnt turning on
where are the fuses located on the jl 300/4? i never remember even seeing any fuse on the amp itself, all amps should have one, but i havent seen one on the jl 300/4... and what other 2-3 fuse are you referring to so i can check...
im so scared right now...

Re: my jl 300/4 amp isnt turning on
i just checked the jl 300/4 manual and it says:
There is only one condition that will shut down an undamaged 300/4 completely... If battery voltage drops below 10 volts, the entire amplifier will shut itself off. The green "Power" indicator on the top of the amplifier will turn off when this occurs. The amplifier will turn back on when voltage climbs back above 10 volts. This may happen in a rapid cycle when bass-heavy program material causes a weak charging system to dip below 10 volts momentarily. If this is happening in your system, have your charging system inspected to make sure it is working properly.
I had my battery drained prior to this, and had to jump start my car last weekend, because i was playing around with my radio for a few hours with my car not running... could this be the cause of this? My battery? How long does it take to charge my battery back up after its been drained? But if this is the case how come just one of my amp has no power, but the other one does?
I still cant find these fuses that you're talking about...
