got a double din kit but dont want to put in a single din radio

so My JDM double din kit just came today. I have a pretty sick pioneer single din sterio deck that I was going to put in and just use a single din pocket to fill the bottom hole. After thinking about it, I really like the look of a double din lcd screen fillin the entire unit much better, but I dont want to get rid of my current single din pioneer deck since it was a gift from my girlfriend. SO, I wanted to know if anyone knows of a way I can buy a lcd screen to fill the entire JDM double din kit hole and connect my current single din radio into that. I was thinking of mounting the single din kit in the upper glove box where the navi dvd player is ( since i dont have the nav package) and connecting it to a lcd screen that would sit in the entire double din head unit hole. Anyone know if this can be done? what size screen I would need? any reccomendations for screens? etc.

I would just buy a double din unit but A.) I dont want to spend a lot of $ and B.) my gf would be pissed if i got rid of the single din kit she gave me for my birthday

the model of my single din pioneer unit is a DEH-P6800MP http://www.crutchfield.com/S-eN31uaS...x?i=130DEHP680

Even if you have a screen you dont have a headunit to utilize it.You can still put that single din in but your gonna spend 275 on a dash kit. Explain to your girl that it dont work in the car and its gotta be a special one lol. Sell it then grab a cheap used Double Din. You better off.

I also found this for the cheapest wholesale deal I could find. http://www.chinavasion.com/product_i...uchscreen-usb/ It has multiple audio in/out's so I would assume I woule be able to use my single din sterio as the mp3/cd/radio source and the screen as my dvd player right? sorry for the super noob questions guys, im new to this and trying to do it myself and become more knowledgable in the ways of car audio. thanks

I dont necessarilly need to utilize it, as far as graphical images while my single din is playing music. I just want to be able to have the dvd player 2din in the dash with my single din hidden in the glove box and still be able to play music with my single din

I can appreciate you not wanting to hurt your gf's feelings, but the most simple way to get what you want is to ditch the single DIN unit and install a double DIN unit in the OEM location.

There's no reason to have two head units in the car especially when one is in the glove compartment and hard to access. Those DVD screens are also CD/DVD players with the same functions as your Pioneer HU, no need for the Pioneer single DIN if you want a LCD screen.
