^ if you have bose speakers, they should be running off the bose amp in the trunk. the non-bose equipped cars have the amp built into the HU, so wouldn't this mean no sound change besides having different controls? Did you splice into it wrong or something?

**I am by no means a stereo-savvy person, so I'm just guessing**

I believe in the stock BOSE system the output of the HU, the BOSE amp and the speakers are equalized and balance to sound as a unit. Take one piece out and everything fall apart. An after market system will sound even better that the stock BOSE. I would definitely upgrade amp and speakers.

^i feel you there.. what sort of head unit did you buy? So many members have replaced their stock HU with a touchscreen nav and haven't heard of any of these problems.. I say return the unit, go to a different place and have them install the same, or different one, but make sure you ask them if it will work correctly

A lot depends on how the shop connected your Kenwood HU to the Bose amp. The 2 volt RCA output from the Kenwood should be plenty and it is probably more voltage than the Bose HU puts out.

If the shop used the Kenwood speaker level outputs and an LOC, then the LOC may need to be adjusted. Some have level controls.
