does the sattelite need to be active to use the pac aai nis 2 with the factory radio?

 

Only if you want to hear music. I assume you are referring to an aftermarket sat tuner instead of the Nissan tuner.

 

i was wondering if i could use the pac with a with my stock hu, it is wired for sat and used to have it but it is now inactive. i didnt know that the sirius 12 pin connector must be left unplugged for the pac to work with a deactivated sat input. took me 3 hours and a cut hand to figure that out

 

I think I understand your question. Only the Nissan iPod adapter will work with the OEM sat tuner and the iPod.
