My car wouldn't start this morning (2nd time in 1 week, 3rd time in 2 months), so I decided to troubleshoot why. I measured the battery voltage (with a multimeter) at 11.4 (bad), but decided it couldn't be the battery, since I replaced it 1 month ago new. I suspected that something was draining it, so to find out I turned every switch off, closed the doors, disconnected the negative battery lead, and then measured the current draw at 500 milli-amps(too high!). To isolate I pulled some fuses (not sure which one), but no change in current draw. NExt I pulled the radio fuse and Viola, current draw went down to 70mA (good), so found the stock Radio circuit to be the problem!! NOW, as another member wrote, I'm stuck on 75 degrees on my AC controls. HOW Do you RESET the Temperature controls?

I pretty much guarantee its the radio. We replace radios all the time at work for draw problems.

I had this problem 2 years ago, pulled the radio unit, sent it in for repair, everything worked well until I recently couldn't start the car. I'll check the current draw later today but it looks like the same old problem for my 2003 G35. I just logged on thinking I'd see more posts about this problem hoping there is a solution by this time. Original repair cost around $400 (a lot more if I didn't pull/replace the unit myself) but what choice did I have since the radio in central to all control in this car.

For the Temperature-control-stuck-on-75 issue, as it turns out the radio and temp controls are somehow related, and when I replace the radio, or pop the fuse back in, it will fix the temp problem. This is according to the dealer.

well ****.

Hard start today after work and it's the f'ing radio fuse again. 2nd one but the cd player isn't stuck this time.

With multi on 10A:

.85-1.04A with the fuse in, .40A with the fuse out

Forget the Factory radio-Install an aftermarket stereo

So after waiting without a stock radio and stuck temp controls, I finally got my tax refund and went out and bought an aftermarket stereo (with Metra dash install kit of course, since the radio and ac/temp controls are all integrated in the factory radio).....everything is working beautifully now...

I am having the same problem as everyone else. I have a 2004 G35 with the Pre. Bose System (BS)!..anyways, my battery is not holding any charge! It all started back in December when my CD player was only playing out of the right side of the car. As time went on, I would only listen to my radio because my radio would play out of all speakers.

I have a Rockford Fosgate amp and 2 10" subs in my trunk with a relay switch. I noticed at the beginning of April, when I would turn on my switch to hear my subs with the radio, it wasn't working. Next, I noticed that when I would turn the Bass up on the HU to +5, it didn't sound the same. A week after that, the radio stopped playing altogether and all I would see is the display on the HU. 4 days after that, my battery drains everyday and now, it won't hold a charge at ALL!

I have plans on getting a new HU this week or next week. However, since I have my factory battery still in my car, I was thinking that maybe my battery needs to be replaced. I called AAA to replace my battery when they said that my alternator is overcharging. I don't know at this point should I replace my HU first or my alternator. Any ideas?

Sorry for the long story but from what I see, it seems like the HU is the problem as I had no problems with my battery or alternator before this issue with the HU. However, it could just be my luck that everything is happening at the same time.
