Muffled Sub Sound in upg System FIXED! Sub Change?

It turns out the auto installer set the sub crossover to 110! Jesus christ! I dropped it down to between 80-85 and now it sounds great!

The question becomes:Now that I know the sound is good.. should I spend the extra $100 bones to upgrade the 10W04 to a 10W3v2? What would I gain from that upgrade?

i say dont mess with a good thing....unless you're willing to deal with that headache of troubleshooting again if it happens....
a w0 packs a mean punch..and a w3 a bit more....i dont think its worth it....

the w0 doesn't sound as accurate and clean as a w3. considering that I have alot of high end stuff.. to use an entry w0 kinda sounds silly..

Make the change. The w3v2 is a great sub. IF you can step up to the W6v2, then do it. That sub's performance is very close to the W7. I actually prefer it over the W7. The w3v2 is great as well though.

Re: Muffled Sub Sound in upg System FIXED! Sub Change?

thanks man.. it's been a lil hectic trying to figure it out.. but in the end it came down to two factors:

1)W3v2 is a 300W RMS sub, W04 is a 125W RMS sub.. I'm pushing about 200-210RMS on my alpine sub channel..so its going past the limits of what JL recommends (its almost in the danger zone) while the W3v2 would be underpowered a bit, but allow room for growth

2)W3v2 is DVC vs W0 which is SVC, coupled with the fact that the W3v2 produces cleaner, more accurate bass, while not necessarily being very much louder (which is cool, as the loudness of the W0 wasn't its problem.)
