CD ERROR F0 and BASS
CD ERROR F0 and BASS
My local installer encountered the dreaded "CD ERROR F0" and was somehow able to fix it. The dude who did my system seems to think that the bass from the subwoofer makes the cd's in the changer sort of "fall out of position".
They tested it a few times with multiple cd's in the changer and decided that it was best for me to only run 1 cd at a time for now.
What do you guys think? I didn't plan on going with an aftermarket head unit for a while. I think the double din solutions out for the G35 are crappy looking and really want to keep the stock head unit for a while. (Plus I'd hate to loose the steering wheel controls)

Re: CD ERROR F0 and BASS
I have lots of bass and the CD changer works without an issue. If the CD player was that sensitive to vibration, I would think bumpy roads would present more of a problem than a sub.
My first player F0'd out. What happened with my original unit is its ability to read a disc would degrade after a half hour operation. If I switched discs when it wasn't able to play properly, it gave an F0. So I'm guessing F0 just means it couldn't read the disc properly. Unfortunately it doesn't handle it gracefully and just spit the disc out. The couple times it happened I managed to get it unstuck by turning on and off the car a few times.

Re: CD ERROR F0 and BASS
I think gdup's audio shop just effed up and corrected their idiocy... it probably wasn't "THE" ERROR, but "AN" error. If you're afraid to put in more than one disc, then do it. Make them pay for the replacement.

Re: CD ERROR F0 and BASS
True... so you guys think I should attempt more than one disc at a time? I'm blaming everyone here when I get the dreaded CD ERROR F0 again. j/k
I think the installer was just a douche and didn't understand how to insert the cd's properly.

Re: CD ERROR F0 and BASS
I'd say have the audio shop admit they screwed up, and if your changer effs up it's their fault (TONS of people have added bass without the F0), and use it as normal. If it messes up, take the $2,000 and get a different head unit since you hate this one.

Re: CD ERROR F0 and BASS
TO FIX CD ERROR PROBLEMS . TURN CAR AND RADIO OFF. AND REMOVE RADIO FUSE LOCATED UNDER HOOD.NEXT TO BATTERY.I HAD SAME PROBLEM AND IT WORKED FOR ME. REINSTALL FUSE AFTER A MINUTE OR SO. THEN TRY RADIO, TO SEE IF PROBLEM WAS SOLVED.THIS PROCEDURE CLEARS THE MEMORY ON THE RADIO. TRY IT THE WORST COULD HAPPEN IS YOUR RADIO STILL SAYS CD ERROR. GOOD LUCK GUYS
