I was planning on getting the Eclipse AVN 6620 but i wanted to keep my stock speakers and amp. Does anyone have this installed or knows how this sound with the high level inputs going to the factory amp?

You cannot go pre-amp to the bose amp. But you could get the harness without the RCA's it will work just fine. Your speakers will sound awesome.

I thought for bose model cars they make a wiring harness with rca inputs. Plus I don't know if the eclispe hu will support a 2ohm load if I bypass the bose amp and wire it directly to the speakers.

Metra makes a wire harness adapter with RCA pigtails to mate with the Bose amp.

I don't see why you can't use the Eclipse 5v output other than you may need to keep the volume lower. The Bose HU outputs around 1 volt, but voltage varies with volume.

I don't know if the Eclipse will handle the 2 ohm Bose speakers, but you would have to run new speaker wire from the HU to the speakers or jump some wires at the Bose amp wire harness to make it work without the Bose amp or another amp.

Doesn't matter what aftermarket HU you put in there or what amp you have back there, stock Bose or aftermarket.

Why?

The stock Nissan 2 ohm speakers suck! Remember that the front 4 speakers are simply Nissan speakers that have magnets the size of refrigerator fruit magnets that hold up your Walmart grocery lists and speakers that are made with construction paper.

The only Bose speakers are the 6x9" "subs" on the rear shelf. If you want a cool-looking HU with a ton of bells & whistle functions, then go for it. But if you are looking to improve your sound quality, you're not going to achieve much improvement without swapping out the stock speakers first.

This concept has been proven over and over again in the last 5 years....

hope this helps....just trying to save you a little $$ and frustrated headaches when you ask yourself, why does it sound more crappy when you add a more powerful HU with crappy speakers.....

If you're interested in that unit, I have a friend who is selling one. I'm pretty sure it's that same model and I think he is asking around 6 or 700 for it. If you're interested PM me and I'll get you more info.
