Installing a GPS Direct Wire Cable
Installing a GPS Direct Wire Cable
I recently attached my Garmin nuvi 350 to the inside of my cubby in my 2003 G35, but its still plugged into the reg. cig lighter. I found this GPS Direct Wire Cable - GUSB5V-B (http://www.buy.com/prod/gps-direct-w...208050433.html)
which seems to be what will work best as far as hardwiring the gps and wanted to know where I would attach the wires to make it work. I don't know electrical so well, so please be clear about it if possible.

I can't tell you if that cable will work with your GPS but I can tell you that you will probably want to get the power from the cigarette lighter but do so knowing that if the car is off the GPS will get no power. You might want to check on how much it would be to have it professionally installed. This isn't complicated but depending upon how well you want it integrated it may be more than you want to tackle.
I have the exact same GPS and I put it in the same spot. I jsut wired it trough the back of the cubby down the back of the head unit through the center console into the arm rest cubby and plugged it into the cig lighter there. Works perfect and no wires are seen at all

you need to take the whole HU out. There is a DIY in the DIY section of how to get the whole headunit out. Just drill in the little cubby and run the wire through the back into the middle console arm rest and plug it into the 12v cig lighter
