Navi: aftermarket unit ok?

I got my G35. It has premium, aero, and sports package, waiting for delevery on Monday....... ^_^
Thing is, I couldn't get the Navi as the one car equipped with Navi was priced ridiculously over MSRP..... so now I'm stuck without a NAVI.... That got me thinking: maybe I can get an aftermarket one with the retractable screens and put it in the cuppy-ish thing the factory Navi would've replaced. Do you guys think it's going to work????

Re: Navi: aftermarket unit ok?

the navi is the best way to get around ... it is essential in cars (i strongly believe ha) but in regard to your question .. putting the navi in the compartment where the factory install would have been may not look clean unless u remove the entire compartment .. i think its better to place it somewhere else but if that compartment can be removed, u may have a good chance of using the retrcactable screens ... i' ve seen some in dash retractable screens and of that compartment can be removed .. i would put the in-dash navi there cuz it goes in perpindicular to the console and when it pops out, goes parallel .. look into that possibility .. as of now ,i'd stik with a navi like rollingsentra's
