How to run 1/0 Gauge Wire
Here is a little "HOW-TO" on running 1/0 gauge wire from the battery through the fire wall and into the back of the car.
The first step is to raise your hood.
Remove the black plastic battery area cover by popping out the 5 or 6 black plastic push pins.
Next, remove the black plastic trim piece between the battery and the wind shield. It is held down by two plastic push pins. Make sure you remove the windshield washer hoses, very easy. This piece also serves as the "gutter" for water off the windshield.

***IMPORTANT: Remove the negative wire from the battery anytime you work on your stereo wiring.
Now you will see the main electrical penetration into the car. This penetration is covered by a huge rubber grommet.
I drilled a 1/2" hole through it and forced the 1/0 gauge wire through the hole. Be careful not to drill the other wires.

Remove the lower trim piece on the right side of the passenger-side floor.
Also, remove the plastic door sill trim between the carpet and the door jamb.
Feed the 1/0 wire down into the car and search for the other end under the dash.
Get help from another person. Slowly feed the wire from the engine compartment while the other person gently pulls the wire from the other side. Moving too fast will just mess up the rubber grommet.
When you have finished, ensure you leave yourself plenty of room to mount the in-line fuse holder. Now, ensure the rubber grommet is still in place. Use silicone to seal the hole or water may leak into the car.

Inside the car,
Pop the edge of the carpet up from the white plastic clips. This is self explanitory when you see this.
I already had the rear seat and rear side panels removed which I highly recommend doing. At least remove the seat.
Push the wire into the crack under the carpet. Wire-tie the wire to the wire bundle.
Feed the wire under the metal bracket that holds up the lower portion of the rear seat and then feed the wire into the trunk area where you need it.
Put everything back together.
I bought 20' of 1/0 wire. I did not need that much, but it is better to have extra than not enough.

The ground is an important wire or they wouldn't make Grounding Kits like Hyper Ground.
This system is grounded in a different location. 1/0 Gauge bolted to the seatbelt mount under the rear seat.

I'm not talking about your amp grounds. I'm talking about the little black ground wire (probably 8 gauge and about 7-8" long) that is between your chassis (side of the engine bay) and your negative battery post.
Without upgrading this wire, you will have a bottleneck in the system. It would be like having 80mm piping on the intake side only to run into you exhaust (- batt to chassis wire) that is 20mm. I hope I've made sense. Use any leftover 1/0 wire or if you have some 4 gauge, you could just add it to the existing wire.

In part yes. However, the more paths you have, the better. The power will always take the path of least resistance which will be the current ground location based on the length of the wire if you increase the size.
Also, take a dremel or low grit sandpaper and take all of the paint directly underneath the ground points by the battery and where the amps are grounded in the back. This will help also.

Thank you, thank you, thank you. Excellent instructions, indispensible pictures. I've had my G for a total of four days now, and put in the pop charger/z-tube, sub & amp, and will be hardwiring my Escort x50 next. There's NO WAY I could do any of this without the generous, well-written contributions of this forum's members. Thanks to all--from my G n' me.

What kind of terminal clamps did you use on the pos. and neg. terminals to add your wires? Couldn't tell from the pic if they were the same or different. Does the battery cover still fit?
