If you want the update, just register your product online. I did so, but then i called Pioneer's tech support, got the run-around, then 20 minutes later while being on hold for a while and transfered to 5 different tech's, they finally took down my info and said they will mail me the update as soon as it is finalized for shipping out.
Hopefully this update will take care of the few kinks/bugs that are in the version 1.0 of the system.

Any AVIC-N1 manufactured after May 11th will supposedly have the updated software. You can tell if your box has a round 1" sticker (forgot the color...i think red) by the UPC

hello: do you know if the update DVD version is toward the map or is for better operations?...my MFD was april...since it was just released, wonder how offten they gonna update the software. atleast the this one is for free[img]/w3timages/icons/cool.gif[/img]! thank you for keep us informed.

Did you do the installation of N1 yourself?
I am going to get mine this week~!
Its supposed to have Dynamic Vehicle Monitoring, how easy
is the wiring of this function? What monitoring does it have?
Tire pressure? what else?

I got the update guys. It fixes a couple bugs but thats all it does. No map updates yet, till 2005....

Yes i did install it myself. If you are technically inclined then you should have no problem.

You will need to get the double-din dash kit, see the How-To guide in the DYI section of the forum, and thats about $375.

Also, The N1 is not a tire pressure monitoring system. The N1 monitors and displays: Speed, Lateral Acceleration, Side Acceleration, Acceleration Rate, Slope, Direction, and GPS Time (uses the official world clock time). In order for the Speed to be fully accurate, you will need to connect the pink speed sensor wire from the N1 to the vehicle's speed pulse wire, which is white/green and located in one of the unused stock harnesses. The rest of the functions are automatically calculated using the hide-away box's G-force and Gyro sensors, as well as GPS data.

can you tell me details on the white/green wire. Which stock harness? Where is it located? Behind the dash or do I need to route it from somewhere?

Finally where did you get the N1 and for how much?

WHAT no map update[img]/w3timages/icons/shocked.gif[/img]...i am going to house sit for my sister over the weekned, when i put there addy in? it wasnt found! they been in that house for about 8 months and the area is kinda new but it has been building since last may, and i am sure that builder had to put in the street name at least 6 months before they can start building, so the name of the street would had to be in the system for around 18 months???. but the N1 cant find it[img]/w3timages/icons/shocked.gif[/img] darn darn darn ...need update need update...

i used the first link to register my N1 already
so...when and how will i know my update dvd is sent to me?

 

the speed wire ( white /green )
is locate behind the dash
so after u take out the whole dash..and unplug all the thingx..
try to find a plug that content 4 wires
the plug is white and the 4 wires' colour is
/ white& green / red / green / yellow /
this plug is unplug already..so it is easy to find
or u can hook up everything to ur HU then there will be
2 plug that are not use ..one of them content the 4 wires!

that is not the plug u can find the white green wire!
