Cd error/dealer replacement question

so my cd player pulled a check disk error, and i brought it to the dealer. They said they will replace it under warranty, but it will take 3 weeks. for the time, i would have no audio or climate control. im hesitating until a time when i dont need to use the car, but JW- did it take that long for them to replace it for anyone else? i thought it should just be a couple hour switch out.

When mine went on my 05. The Dealer ordered a replacement unit. When it came in, they replaced it in an hour or two. I had to wait a couple months to get my cds back that were jammed in the old unit though.

Have them order the new HU and take the car in when it arrives. You just won't be able to listen to CDs during that time.

Wow !!! I have never heard of them doing that. Certainly not treating the customer very well. Usually it is a one day deal.

there's some double din car-puters that aren't that badly priced just a matter of finding them. Saw one at the Canadian International Auto Show yesterday, didn't look too bad. didn't play with it though.
