amp selection
Re: amp selection
senupi, I think most people agree that the rear-middle speakers don't contribute alot in terms of audio quality (esp if you look at the what's covering them). Also, I have a limited budget for audio upgrades.
I'm leaning towards a 3 channel amp...how many Watts do I need for the tweeters, 6.5's and a 10w3v2?

Re: amp selection
alright, So i don't have to spend as much the fronts as I do for the rear mids. good stuff. As for the wattage, I think it really depends on the speaker rating.
Hmm, also keep in mind i don't have premium so I don't have the 6x9s. those don't matter much either? all about the fronts huh>..??

Re: amp selection
yeah, the 6x9s just give you bass, so once you put in a sub, they just get in the way.
4080 estimated that my setup would probably cost around $1000
thou that is a little more than I'd like to spend.....
seems like the most expensive thing is the amp., then components...

Re: amp selection
ok, I've done a little more research and here's what I came up with:
Front Components - Focal 165A or MB Quart RCE216
Sub - JL 10w3v2
Amp - Rockford Fosgate 501X 4Channel
this adds up to about $680 and still need a sub box (from 4080?) + wiring + 1 Farad Cap + install... how much do you think install will run me?
what do you guys think of that amp for these speakers?
I don't need it to be very loud, but I would like tight bass and clean sounds.
something in that price range would be cool... thanks!

Re: amp selection
Pheonix gold is supposed to be a good brand but why is this so cheap?

As for the capacitor, why is that needed?
