Stop by a stereo stop and offer a guy $10 on the side to just take a look
I think you should mount the amp to some wood or something more stable than having it zip-tied to the bose amp. You can also organize and ziptie down the wires. These things may not be the fix but the simplicity can sometimes help you figure out what is wrong...
good luck

the ground being 'secure', and the place it is grounded being a good ground are two different things.
something is obviously wrong with the installation because of the problems you are experiencing, and you don't know how to fix it. it requires either having it re-installed correctly, or some basic troubleshooting which you dont seem to know how to do, seeing as how you posted stating that you don't know what is wrong.
take it to a shop.

Didn't read the entire thread, just first post, but i'll chime in from what I know. I used to own the PDX 1.1000, lovely amp...was actually going to run 4 of em on 1 sub. Anyhow, when I had it on a single 10 that I was running, every now and then I'd blow fuses because I would turn the volume up a tad too much, more than often lower frequency notes would do it.
Are you using 20A or 25A fuses? I know there was an issue with the 20A fuses blowing out so Alpine started selling the product with 25A fuses.

$70, not bad at all. Hopefully you don't have the same problem anymore. Out of curiosity, did you buy your amp from an authorized dealer?
Reason I ask is because I used to have a Blackbird (one before the one I sold) and I was having problems with it and they sent me a new battery for at no charge, even though I had bought it off eBay. The tech guy was nice about it the entire time and said not to worry about it.
I find them to have great customer service. They had a customer appreciation meet, which I wish I had the opportunity to go to but didnt have any Alpine products at the time, and they had tons of giveways and free food, heard it was a great event.

I got it back however the amp still shuts of when the volume is up all the and the sub hits a low frequency. So I had to leave the gain a half notch below halfway for this not to happen. Could this be because the amp cant get enough power?
No I bought the amp on craigslist. And the installation has been inspected and fixed by a professional.

I'd first call up Alpine and tell them that you are having the same issues. There is no reason to have paid $70 and still have the same problem. Try this out, put the gain where you had it before, but on the tracks with low frequencies, lower the volume a little and see if it still does it, or lower the sub level if you can instead.
What frequencies do you notice that it's doing it at?

I went through a similar problem. I was having trouble running a single JL 12W6V2 at 2 ohms. Whenever there was a high frequency note (90hz -ish) the amp would go into protect. I switched the VC wiring to 8 ohms and ran it like that for a couple weeks. One day the amp blew all it's fuses. After replacing the fuses it worked for a little while, then blew them again. After that it would blow the fuses as soon as power was applied. I sent the amp back to alpine, they fixed it for $70 and sent it back.
Once I got it, it rewired the sub for 2 ohms and worked as it originally did, which was not very well. It then blew the fuses again and stayed dead. I pulled it apart and found the IRF outputs were shorted and the driver IC had blown it's top.
I replaced the amp (with no other system changes) with a Helix HXA1000qx and all has been well ever since (about 1 year).

Did you ever figure out how to stop it from happening?
