anyone have a remote start with the I-keys
I was thinking about getting a remote starter installed on the G. I have the prem model so that means i have the I-key. My understands of a remote starter install is that it needs the immbolizer chip installed on somewhere on the dash so it can be bypassed to start the car.
now if i get a remote starter installed, i fear that ANYONE can walk up to my car and open my doors because if the touch door handle feature with the I-keyed cars, and since the chip is in the car at all times there isn't anything i can do with this.
So anyone with the I-key have a remote start?

I don't have one, but I work at a local shop that has done installs on our cars, some with the I key. You will most likely have to give up one of your keys, probably the valet key, to be installed with the starter under the dashboard. When you press the start button, the starter activates a circuit that allows the key installed in the vehicle to be recognized by the car and therefore be started. It will not recognize it if you don't press the button. If you choose not to use the remote start to start the car, the system will remain like stock.
i have the remote start and i have an I-key..
i use my valet key to bypass the autostart.. it's a different signal than the i-key..
so no one can press the button on the door to unlock
