I've listened to a few vehicles and they had tremendous low end reproduction that were IB setups. One was 2 15" AE IB's, another was 3 12" ID Max's, another was 1 12" Fi X, another was a 12" TC Sounds TC9, another was a single 12" IDMAX and finaly a pair of 12" IDMAX's. Certainly not close to running an 18" in 5 cubes sealed but pretty good...so I wouldn't say that you can't get lowend from IB.

From a single 8" well, no it's not gonna really happen. You can't get an Fs that low for an 8" sub really. I've generally seen them at 30 Hz and higher. Go with a sub with more cone area then you'll start getting into Fs's of 16 Hz - 25 Hz.
