I am considering a basic upgrade to the "premium" bose system in my 2003.5 sedan (MB Quart PCE 216's up front powered by a JL 300-2, and a small sub and an additional amp at some point in the future). There are plenty of pics posted in this forum for coupe installs showing the factory amp location on the left rear of the trunk compartment. There's nothing in that same location in my sedan. Can somebody point me to the correct location.

I would consider a 300/4 instead of the 300/2; so you can power the rear door speakers as well. I put PCE 216's in my rear doors, and QM216's in the front doors. For amp location, the 300/4 (or 300/2---same size) can be mounted on the front panel of the trunk. I actually have both a 300/2 and 300/4, and am in the process of mounting one amp on each side of the pass-through. I considered a higher powered JL amp for my sub, but I would have needed to find another place to mount it. So far, I've just mounted my door speakers, and dynomatted the doors, and the sound improvement is considerable. One thing I found when considering mounting amps on the front wall of the trunk is that this is not a solid wall. I am going to cut MDF panels to mount the amps to that will mount to the trunk front. If you look at the mounting screw locations on the JL amps, and compare it to the trunk front, only one screw would hit something solid, necessitating the MDF panels.
The sedan does not have the empty area near the spare tire where you see a lot of coupe owners mounting amps.

The bose amp is mounted on the right hand side (passenger side) to the bottom of the rear shelf. To access it, you will have to remove the front trunk lining. Just snap out the clips just under the rear of the trunk lid.
